ENERGY:
In Greenland will find no liquid water. During the entire expedition will be required to melt snow and ice. This doubles the energy demand compared to expedtions that have liquid water available. Like most arctic expeditions we will use White Gas to cook and melt snow. White Gas is very efficient, comparatively cheap and it saves us from carrying a huge amount of cartriges. White Gas can be bought from Nanu in Scoresbysund (Ittoqqortoormiit). Even in Greenland we will have a demand for electricity, since our cameras, navigation- and communication equipment depend on it. Instead of taking countless battery packs along, we will use state of the art solar panels that generate enough power to continuously supply and charge all systems. The use of solar power is an essential key to the documentation and communication of the expedition. By prooving the efficiency of solar energy we also want to promote a wider use of renewable energy sources. |
