Use of Snowkites during the Greenland Expedition

During 70 km of the 321 km covered in total, we were able to use the snowkites.

At the beginning in Knud Rasmussens Land:

The Wind was not strong enough...

...to pull us and the heavy Pulks.

Nevertheless we had some kiting fun.

With the we pulks we barely moved 2km.

Same thing in the Watkins Mountains.

On Christian IV glacier:
stormy Wind - now or never!

At high speed the ride accross the widespread sastrugi fields is very rough.

Soon we make some distance crossing the vast glacier. Then the wind turns against us.
Far on the horizon: the Gronau Nunatakker.

Perfect conditions, finally, on the way North from the Gronau Nunatakker.

The wind increases,...

... and we breeze through the polar night.

We are able to cover 80 km in 2 days and
hence name this route...

...the Gronau-SternLand-Expressway.
